Information on the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive)
We’re pleased to offer our customers free recycling on allhousehold electrical items.
Unwanted electrical equipment is the UKs fastest growingtype of waste, and sending it to landfill causes lead and other toxins can leakout and cause soil and water contamination, harming wildlife and human health.
Fortunately, many electrical items can now be repaired orrecycled. That’s why we’re offering free recycling on a like‐for‐like basis –so when you buy a new item from us, we will make sure your old model is takencare of.
If you’re not sure whether your electrical item can berecycled, have a look for the crossed‐out wheelie bin symbol on the packaging,or on the item itself. If the symbol appears on the replacement item, this isalso an indication that the old model should be recycled.
The Directive
The Waste Electrical or Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive requires countries to maximise separate collection and environmentally friendly processing of waste electricals. In the UK, that means retailers like us must offer all customers buying new equipment a free take‐back for their old electrical items.
What Does This Mean?
MailOrderExpres.com is obliged under these regulations to offer our customers a free take-back of their WEEE on a like-for-like basis when they buy a new Electrical or Electronic product from us.
For example, if a you buy a new Radio Controlled Toy Car from us wewould accept your old Radio Controlled Toy Car and prevent it going into alandfill site by disposing of it safely. You must return the WEEE item to uswithin 28 days of purchasing your new item at your own cost.
